What is Cupping & How Can It Support Your Body?

Cupping is an ancient healing practice that creates suction to gently lift the skin and fascia, promoting circulation, relieving tension, and supporting detoxification. When combined with restorative yoga, this technique enhances fascia release, energy flow, and deep relaxation, making it an ideal practice for unlocking tension in both body and mind.


Does Cupping Hurt? Will It Leave Marks?

No, cupping does not hurt! 😊 We use gentle silicone cups that create a mild suction sensation, similar to a light massage. Many people find it deeply relaxing.

Yes, cupping can leave marks, but they are not bruises! These marks are a natural response to improved circulation and stagnant energy release. They typically fade within a few days to a week and are a sign of increased blood flow and healing in the area.

What to Expect in Class

This 90-minute experience is divided into three sections:

🔹 Activate – Gentle movement and breathwork to prepare the body for cupping and stretching.
🔹 Release & Restore – Cups will be applied while you settle into restorative yoga poses supported by bolsters and props. Each pose is held for 3-5 minutes to encourage fascial release, improved circulation, and energy balancing.
🔹 Reintegrate – End with gentle movement and grounding techniques to help integrate the benefits of the session, leaving you feeling refreshed, open, and aligned.


What to Bring & Wear

Wear shorts and a tank top/sports bra for easy cupping access.
Bring a large beach towel.
Mats, bolsters, and cups will be provided.

Contraindications – Who Should Avoid Cupping?

⚠️ Avoid this class if you have:
❌ New tattoos, sunburn, varicose veins, or open wounds
❌ Pacemakers or any electronic implants
❌ Blood disorders (e.g., hemophilia, anemia, clotting issues)
❌ Are on blood thinners (e.g., warfarin, aspirin)
❌ Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or history of blood clots
❌ Severe heart, liver, or kidney conditions
❌ Pregnancy (especially 1st trimester or over the abdomen)
❌ Recent surgeries (within the past 6 weeks)
❌ Active infections, fever, or immune deficiency
