In a world that often asks women to give more than they receive, Daughters of the Hollow is an invitation to pause, breathe, and reconnect—with yourself, with nature’s rhythms, and with a powerful circle of kindred spirits.
Led by Intuitive Healer, Mind-Body Psychic Medium, Yoga Instructor, and Women’s Circle Facilitator Kara Lovehart, this monthly women’s circle is a sacred space for women of all backgrounds, faiths, and spiritual journeys. Whether you’re new to women’s circles or have been part of them for years, this space is designed to nurture your growth, healing, and soulful expansion.
✨ A Sacred Gathering Place—Rooted in Legacy
The mural is positioned on local business “Sweet Melissa’s Dream’s” building. Owner, Melissa Grove, is also Ella’s great granddaughter.
The land where Firefly Hollow Wellness Center now stands holds a deep, generational history—a legacy of women gathering, nourishing, and nurturing community for over a century.
This sacred space was once the original homeplace of the Markey family, lovingly stewarded for six generations. It was here, on the hillside and under the open sky, that women of the Markey family gathered weekly—to make food, sing hymns, play games, share stories, and prepare for the local farmers market. More than just a farm, it was a vibrant place of service, celebration, and connection, offering warmth and care to family, friends, neighbors, and those in need.
Now, this historic land is soon to be adjacent to York Township’s upcoming “Markey Park,” currently under construction—a beautiful continuation of the land’s legacy as a place for gathering and healing.
At the heart of Firefly Hollow is Kara Lovehart, great-granddaughter of Ella Markey, and David & Orpha Markey. Kara carries the family’s legacy of love, connection, and community in all she creates. Inspired by the strength, spirit, and wisdom of her ancestors, she continues this tradition by opening the space once again to gathering women—modern-day daughters of the hollow.
With open arms, she invites you into a space where women can reconnect with themselves and each other. A space where the wisdom of the past meets the heart of the present. A space to share stories, hold space, honor our intuition, and walk the path of womanhood together.
